(v1.2 Release)

VERY MINOR changes to v1.2
In the previous package of the game, I accidentally left some redundancies in the save file of the game, forcing you immediately to the third level (instead of the first) given that you use the first save slot. I apologize for this oversight, and it has been fixed. Everything else remains unchanged.
Since the issue fully lies within the existing save file and has nothing to do with the programming of the game, the version has not been bumped up and the download link remains the same.

Installation

To install it, just extract it anywhere. Your save data is stored in a different location on your computer.

If you are updating the game, you can extract to the same location as the previous version, replacing the files.

If you want to inspect your save files, locate to the following directory:

%appdata%\MeteoDream\Mario Forever Community Edition

Before version 2.0.0, the save data location was different. The following location is used for saving in versions 1.0 and 1.1:

%appdata%\Redot\app_userdata\Mario Forever- Community Edition

Please note that when upgrading from 1.0 or 1.1 to 2.0.0 or up, all your data is automatically copied over from the old location to be used in the newer version. This happens if the game could not detect the folder in
%appdata%\MeteoDream
. No action from the user is required when upgrading.

The only files related to your game progress are files in
thss
extension and the
saves
folder.

Troubleshooting

IMPORTANT NOTE for INTEL GPU/IGPU USERS (both integrated Intel Graphics and dedicated Intel Arc): Use the bat file named
01. Launch in Compatibility Mode
to launch the game if you are experiencing graphical glitches.

If your graphics card does not support Vulkan or the game otherwise does not run properly by launching the executable, first, try updating the graphics drivers. Most problems are solved just by updating the drivers on your computer.

If updating the drivers did not help and the game still displays incorrectly or crashes on startup, try running the batch file included with the game named
01. Launch in Compatibility Mode.bat
. This will force the game to run in Compatibility renderer (OpenGL). Alternatively, you can try
02. Launch in Compatibility Mode (angle).bat
, which forces the game to run in Direct3D 11 compatibility renderer.

Please note, that Compatibility Mode is not a recommended way to play and we don't take any responsibility for any visual bugs or glitches that may occur during playthrough.

If the game is occasionally stuttering on Windows during gameplay, you can try setting CPU priority of the game to "Above Normal" or "High" in task manager. If you don't know how to do it, google it.

If you're having microstutters during gameplay, make sure you have VSync enabled in the game options. If you are still having microstutters on 2x Buffer, you can try setting VSync to 3x Buffer and then restarting the game when prompted. Note that triple buffering increases input lag, but it shouldn't be a problem for high refresh rate displays. Windows 10 is known for causing microstutters in windowed mode; upgrading to Windows 11 23H2 can eliminate this problem.

System Requirements

Minimum:

OS: Windows 7 x64 / Linux x64

CPU: Any x86-64

RAM: 2 GB

GPU: Integrated graphics with full OpenGL 3.3 support

Storage: at least 350 MB of free storage space

Recommended:

OS: Windows 11 x64 build 23H2 / Linux x64

CPU: Any x86-64

RAM: 4 GB

GPU: Dedicated graphics with full Vulkan 1.2 support

Storage: at least 400 MB of free storage space

Linux build has been tested on Ubuntu 24.04.

But wait, what is Ultra Edition?

Ultra Edition (not engine, that's the one specifically used for SMMWW) is an MF game engine developed by dasasdhba, based on the Clickteam Fusion 2.5+ platform. It starts from zero and is NOT based on the Rainbow Engine. Seriously, it is by far the most advanced MF game engine on the CTF platform ever, with the pixel-perfect physical process and excellent architecture, not inferior to engines on the Godot platform. You can create an MF level on UE without the buggy and sticky physical experience that other CTF engines have, and easily develop complex and powerful new objects using the provided APIs. Sadly, the document and comments do not have an English version, and the fangames created on UE are also only popular among the CN community.
If you want to know more details about the CN community engine, see here: https://www.marioforever.net/thread-3416-1-1.html

About this MF fangame

This fangame contains 6 levels with different themes, with save points for every single level, and the difficulty curve ranges from easy to moderate. It also has some detail improvements, like changing the Wii default sound effects in the UE engine back to original MFs (like getting coins), and better invincible star effects, etc. It is inspired by The Lost Map in the original MF and other fangames about it. Let's suppose that Lost Map world 1~8 for can't sleep's The Lost Map, and world 9 for Lost Map II in MFRb (it is similar to syzx world 9), then this fangame would be world 10, rewrite 10 as X is just Lost Map X.

I played Mario Forever and New Super Mario Forever nonstop, and then i discovered Mario Forever was made in Clickteam Fusion, and downloaded it from a website called getintopc.com (NOT A SPONSOR), thinking i could make a game like Michal did. And i was wrong.

I then started to make games on it, but i still had little-to-no experience on Clickteam Fusion, and my English was pretty mediocre. Here goes a list of all my old crap games made in CTF:

===Yoshi's Adventure===

Oh boy, this one is a classic. Yoshi's Adventure was previously righfully rejected for submission in MFGG in 2022. Nowadays i can make %10000 better games, so don't take this as my actual game-making skills.

Yoshi's Adventure features previously unseen features in a 2020's MFGG game, including:

MIDI music

Low-quality graphics

The classic Platform movement from Clickteam

Random stages copypasted from old games made with Clickteam products

Cutscenes with broken English

A fake company (TUNES Inc.)

A ad of a game that never became reality

A RTF Manual that probably tells you everything

and DLL files that don't do anything!!11!! (terrible rhyme, yeh?)

Explore boring levels with slow gameplay and enemies that DON'T HURT YOU!!! Isn't that amazing??

Also comes with the original MFA file if you wan't to edit it or, i don't know, do a remake of it, i don't care, steal it, do whatever you want with this, i guess.

The game became lost media as i sadly ended up losing the game and it's MFA file when my HD corrupted for the first time. I then contacted the MFGG staff and asked if they still had the files for this game, and they had it. And as i included the MFA file with the game, it's there.

Download this crap here

===Konite===

This one was kind of an evolution. Yet it wasn't.

It's the shortest Kirby fangame ever. It has only 1 "level" and a "boss". Kirby has infinite jumps for some reason (probably i tried to make Kirby fly like he does in his games but still), the Options menu is not a options menu and you get stuck on it, and touching that active object in the Test Room claims you didn't download the game from my website. Another horrible masterpiece.

I also ended up losing the MFA file for this game when my HD corrupted for the first time. While the game itself was not lost unlike the former, the MFA file is lost forever.

Download this crap here

===Nova's Revenge: The Almighty Stone==

Yes. If you are asking me, this is the game'a actual title screen.

It's pure cringe in form of a game that tries to be a masterpiece but it fails in every aspect. Bad graphics? Check. Generic story? Check. Google Drive detected it as a virus? Check. Horrible gameplay? Quadruple check.

This game should receive an Golden Raspberry for the Worst Game with the Most Generic Story.

The first stage is a Space Invaders clone, but then it becomes a horrible platform game with the default Platform movement and one of the stages is almost impossible to beat. If you can beat this game, you are a true gamer

And guess what? The MFA file of this game is also lost. And as the game was compiled into an SWF file and then converted into an EXE for some dumbass reason, i could never get the MFA back. 11/10.

Download this crap here (might get a false-positive by MediaFire in the future)

So these were all my crappy old games i could find.
